View map.Take I-40 towards Cary. Exit onto 440 towards Wake Forest and Sanford. Stay in your left lane and exit onto Highway US 1 South. Take US 1 South to the Ten Ten Road exit. At the end of the exit ramp, make a left onto Center Road. Take Center Road until it dead ends at S. Salem Street. Take a left onto South Salem Street. Apex Family Medicine will be approximately 1 mile down on the right.

Same-Day Care

When minor illness strikes suddenly and you need an appointment today, we offer same-day appointments for existing Wake Health Services patients, age 12 and up.  Located within Rock Quarry Road Family Medicine, 1001 Rock Quarry Road, Raleigh (temporary location), Same-Day Care hours are 12 noon to 8 pm Monday through Friday.  Same-Day appointments are for minor injuries and illnesses only. Providers

Christopher Byrd, MD

Dr. Byrd joined WHSI in July 2002. He received his undergraduate degree from the North Carolina State University (Raleigh, NC) in 1995 and his Doctor of Medicine degree from the East Carolina School of Medicine (Greenville, NC) in 1999. He is board certified in Family Practice.

Anita D. Wilson, MD

Dr. Wilson joined Wake Health in August, 2007. She received her undergraduate degree from Bennett College and her Doctor of Medicine degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School. Dr. Wilson completed her one-year internship in Family Practice and her two-year residency in Family Practice both at Moses Cone Health System. 

Erin Burnette, MSN, FNP

Erin C. Burnette, MSN, FNP Erin received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing in 2002 and her Master of Science degree in Nursing in 2009, both from the University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill, NC). Erin is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
