A message from Dental Director, Shelly Rickert, DDS:

I am proud to announce a renewed focus in New Bern Ridge Family Dental on prevention and education for children and teens —from baby’s first tooth to age 19.  Since 2008, we have focused on dental care for children in response to what we believe is a serious threat to children’s health. Dental decay is the # 1 childhood disease, 5 times more prevalent than asthma; over 50% of children enter kindergarten with cavities.   With mounting evidence of the connection between gum disease and heart disease, we believe a focus on early prevention in dental care is critical for a lifetime of overall good health. . View Map. Take I-440 to New Bern Avenue (exit 13) going towards downtown/WakeMed. Go past WakeMed until you get to the light at the intersection of New Bern Avenue and Peartree Lane. At the light make a U-turn onto the opposite side of New Bern Avenue. Take an immediate right into the first driveway. Our office is located in a three story brick building between Raleigh Urgent Care and WakeMed.
 

Services Provided 

For children ages 0-19 (no adult care). Kid-Friendly Dental exams, Dental  Cleanings/Hygiene Services, Emergency Services, Extractions, Fillings/Restorations, Fluoride Treatment/Varnish and Oral Hygiene Education. 

Support Services

Medicaid and NC Health Choice eligibility assistance through on-site case manager.  Spanish-speaking staff. Discount Fee Program for the uninsured (children ages 0-19 only).

Shelly Rickert, DDS

Shelly L. Rickert, DDS Dr. Rickert received her undergraduate degree from Duke University (Durham, NC) in 1990 and her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry (Chapel Hill, NC) in 1994. 

Crystal Watson, DDS

Crystal G. Watson, DDS Dr. Watson received her undergraduate degree from University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill, NC) in 2002 and her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry (Chapel Hill, NC) in 2006.

Renee Dito, RDH

Renee received her degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of Farmingdale (Farmingdale, NY) in 1989.
