Primary care and substance abuse services are available to people
experiencing homelessness at Horizon Health Center. Men, women,
and children are welcome. Wake Health Services, Inc. participates
in the Wake County Continuum of Care Collaboration, the Wake County
Homeless Working Group, the Wake County Housing and Homeless Coalition,
and the North Carolina Coalition to End Homelessness. We are a White
Flag partner, assisting the homeless who need safe shelter in extreme
weather.
WHSI
participates in training the next generation of medical professionals
and leaders
Duke University, University of North Carolina, and East Carolina
University medical students, residents, and family nurse practitioner
students complete part of their training at WHSI.
Medical support staff students from ECPI and Wake Technical Community
College rotate through WHSI medical clinics on a regular basis.
